+The Dizang pusa jing. (T85.2909.1455) This short text was uncovered by Stein (S. 197) at Dunhuang and is currently held at the British Library. The text advocates and encourages various practices, such as the copying of the sutra itself, the construction of images of the bodhisattva [[Kṣitigarbha]], and the chanting of his name — all of which enable the practitioner to be reborn in the Western Paradise. The text goes on to state that at the moment of death, [[Ksitigarbha]] appears at the practitioner's side to welcome him or her to the Western Paradise. The text is not mentioned in either the Kaiyuan shijiao lu 開元釋教錄 (T55.2154) or the Dingyuan xinding shijiao mulu 貞元釋教目錄 (T55.2157), and thus seems to be have been composed sometime after the ninth century. [Kamata Shigeo, 中國佛教史 第六卷] [a.k.goodman]
