Properties: • plant that relieves grief from heart

tx- anxiety, tachycardia, arrhythmia, depression, congestive heart failure

• hrudya= cardiac, enhances tone of cardiac muscle • daha prashamaka- relieves burning sensation • grahi- binds stools • rakta skandana- hemostatic because constricts capillaries (due to cooling properties) • granthinad- doesn’t allow coagulation but stops bleeding!, maintains normal platelet count, maintains fluidity of blood • relieves thirst, promotes bodhaka kapha does hydration of mucus membranes • uterine muscular antispasmodic- relieves uterine spasms

Tx: OK for lactating females to use • tx menorrhagia, premature labor, dysmenorhoea, profuse menstrual bleeding, any kind of bleeding disorder, bleeding gums, hemorrhoids, blood in stools or rectum • profuse menstrual bleeding- add 1 tsp. ashoka to cup of milk & then boil, boiling quality releases active principles into milk, taken right during menses • blood in stools or rectum- 1 tsp. ashoka with glass of lassi • upper GI bleeding- ashoka (200 mg) + shankha bhasma (200 mg) • will immediately stop threatened miscarriage- use  tsp. ashoka + 1tsp. warm ghee orally • ashoka + vidhari-  tsp. BID, take 1 week before menses to prevent onset

ashoka ghrita- use internally or topically 1 cup ashoka + 16 cup water cook till 4 cups of concoction add 4 cups ghee & then cook again till all water disappears • tx cervical dysplacia, vaginal discharge, nosebleed, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, lupus erythramatosis
