YOG108 Ayurvedic Perspectives on Yoga Therapeutics:

Via the Pancha Skandhas (five aggregates) we will better understanding the body (1. rupa skandha), its sensations-feelings (2. vedana skandha), the mind or 3. samjna skandha (manas) - memory (smritti) - intellect (buddhi), daily behaviors (dinacharya) - habits-volitions-impulses (4. samskara skandha) and consciousness (5. vijnana skandha) as “the observer.” Examines Yoga as Union - simultaneous union of the bliss of compassion (karuna) with the wisdom (prajna paramita) knowing the interconnectedness (interbeing) of all of existence (the Universe or in Sanskrit the Dharma Dhatu, Dharma Realm, Dharma Kaya, Tathagata Garbha, in Chinese The Tao). Looks at what Yoga asanas poses (exercises or asanas) and what meditation - mindfulness techniques are best suited to constitutional ailments and imbalances.

NOTE: The 90 class hours / 6 trimester units of study in the Level 1-A Ayurveda Nutrition Educator Certificate Program involve actually listening approximately 90 hours of actual recorded audio lectures of Rev. Losang Jinpa, D.Ayur, Ph.D and several other teachers.

Ayurvedic Nutrition Educator Certificate can be completed as rapidly as you are able to listen to the 225 hours of classes, take notes, read, do the outside homework and self-study.

This homework is beyond the actual 90 hours of “virtual” (distance learning) classroom time. Expect to spend 30 minutes of [[self-study for every hour of audio or video lecture.
