* Mother was poisoned (pesticides) several years before she had her, and was hospitalized for a month. * Patient moved to the Caribbean (very [[Pitta]] area and probably aggravated her Pitta and caused M.S.) 13 years ago, around that time she started having M.S. symptoms. Symptoms worsened 2 years ago, at the beginning of 2001, and was diagnosed with M.S. few months later. * [[Multiple Sclerosis]] = [[Vata]] **pushing** Pitta **burning** [[Kapha]]. Kapha which is burned makes up protein molecules, ojas, myelin sheath, immunity. * **Diet:** The patient is mostly vegetarian (eats fish). Vegetarianism is good for M.S.. Freshwater fish is better than seawater fish which is P aggravating. Dairy must be limited because patient has asthma. Must limit yogurt intake (poison for P), unless fresh-made yogurt which is sweet. No sour dairy is to be taken. Cheese will block up the channels. Goat milk may be taken (it is [[astringent]] and soothing for P-K) and may be used in little amounts, perhaps once or twice a week as a vehicle for herbs. Also no teas or coffee is to be taken ([[green tea]] is not good for the patient, [[Tulsi tea]] is good for Vata and Kapha but not for Pitta, caffeine is poison for Vata and Pitta.\\ \\

To be massaged on the whole body. The patient needs regular oil massage.
1/2 tsp – 1tsp at bedtime in a cup of water on an empty stomach. Increase or decrease dosage depending on the shape and quantity of stools (increase if constipated and decrease if there is diarrhea).
1 tsp to be taken upon awakening on an empty stomach (for the liver, always treat the liver for M.S.)
Boil 2 tbsp of Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) in 16 oz of water for 15 mins. Strain and add 1/2 cup of sesame oil (patient has very little ama). Wait until it cools down to a warm temperature. Put in enema bag and insert decoction into colon. Lie on the left (descending colon) for 5 minutes, then on the back (transverse colon) for 5 minutes, and then on the right (ascending colon) for 5 minutes. Basti is very soothing for V disturbances, and Guduchi Basti is rejuvenating for the liver for V individuals. Basti is used because the digestion is weak. Through Basti the patient absorbs the herbs in the opposite direction through the colon and the large intestines. Basti is to be repeated every Saturday for 4 weeks.
Is great and recommended for patient.
