Menstruation: Slightly irregular

Dreams: Chasing (p) and being chased (v), violent dreams, sleeps on his back

**Recommendations**

Increase water intake for high Vata (have up to 8-12 cups/day) – drink 3 cups of warm water first thing in the morning

Vata balancing diet – no raw, dry foods, chai spice (warm & sweet spices), enjoy dairy (never cold or with food). Get handout from online.

Circular exercise to bring some heat and pacify Vatayoga, ballet, grounded dancing, elliptical machines (no impact)

Mix ½ Neem with ½ Sesame oil and gargle for 2 mins and massage the gums. Reduce the redness on tongue and the sesame oil will soothe vata (dryness)

Oils Self massage with 2 oz (60ml) of warm Vata Soothing oil from Banyan Botanicals every day before shower/bath (preferably have a bath so the oil sinks into the body better – can do this in the evening). 1gallon (3.78litres) should last 2 months.

If joints are painful she can put Mahanarayan oil on the joints.

Put warm Bhringaraj oil in the ears at night for ringing ears and vata in the nervous system.

Nasya Put 1 drop of Super Nasya Oil onto pinkie and into nose during the day to calm the nervous system before the upper back pain sets in at Vata time. Super Nasya Oil is the best to get rid of upper back pain.

Put 3-5 drops of Super Nasya Oil, right before bed and also when you wake up in the morning, do pranayama for 5 mins to let oil sink deep into the sinuses. This is also for nervous system and upper back pain.

Morning routine to aid meditation 1) Self massage

2) Warm bath – 5 mins

3) Aromatherapy on the chakras: Jatamansi essential oil on crown Chakra, the third eye and fold of the lip, soft spot of the throat, heart chakra, belly button and tailbone in the morning. This is to ground her and calm her throughout the day.

4) 5 minutes of exercise (yoga, stretching, prostrations)

5) 5 minutes nasya with pranayama

6) 5 minutes chanting mantra with breath awareness (very important for high vata to be aware of the breath). Break off incense stick to last 5 mins.

7) Meditation for 1 hour (her usual practice)

3 pts Chitrak: Plumbago zeylanica – for cold digestion, nervous system

5 pts Brahmi monnieri: Centella asiatica – nervine, for the mind, focus, memory, anxiety

5 pts Guduchi Tinospora Cordifolia – for weak liver as seen in pulse, genital herpes

3 pts Avipattikar – gas, bloating, constipation

3pts Shatavari Asparagus Racemosus – slight pain in menstruation, genital herpes

2pts Shankhapushpi Evolvulus alsinoides - irritability, anger, mental aspect of genital herpes (stress)

1 tsp, 3 x day before each meal for 6 weeks mixed with 1tsp of Aloe Vera gel

  • as the anupana (carrier of the herbs). Aloe Vera gel helps with some menstruation pain and also genital herpes, followed by a cup of hot water.
  • Aloe Vera juice could also be used but has more short term affects.

Tikta Ghrita – bitter ghee (from Banyan Botanicals) Neem, Manjistha, Turmeric, Tikta (bitter herb) and apply to the genital herpes. Can also put a little bit on food/ toast.
