Requesting to remain

Dun-gy'i nam-k'ar seng-tr'i pä-dai teng O venerable Gurus with white smiles of delight je-tsun la-ma gye-pai dzum-kar-chen Seated on lion thrones, lotus and moon in the space before me, dak-lo d'ä-pai so-nam zhing-ch'ok-tu I request you to remain for hundreds of aeons in order to spread the Teachings ten-pa gye-ch'ir kel-gyar zhuk-su sol ! And be the supreme Field of Merit for my mind of faith.

Prostration

She-j'ai ky'on-kun jal-wai lo-dr'o t'uk Your minds have the intellect that comprehends the full extent of what can be known, kal-zang na-wai gyen-gy'ur lek-shä sung Your speech, with its excellent explanations, becomes the ear-ornament for those of good fortune, dr'ak-pai pal-gyi lham-mer dze-pai ku Your bodies are radiantly handsome with glory renowned, t'ong-t'ö dr'an-pä d'ön-den-la ch'ak-ts'al I prostrate to you whom to behold, hear or recall is worthwhile.

Offerings

Yi-ong chö-yon na-ts'ok me-tok-d'ang Pleasing water offerings, various flowers, dr'i-zhim duk-pö nang-sal dr'i-ch'ap sok Fragrant incense, light and scented water- ngo-sham yi-trul ch'ö-trin gya-ts'o di This ocean of cloud-like offerings, both actually arranged and mentally created, so-nam zhing-ch'ok ky'ö-la ch'ö par bul I present to you, O supreme Field of Merit.

Confession

G'ang-zhik t'ok-me d'u-na sak-pa-yi Whatever non-virtues of body, speech and mind lu-ngak-yi-kyi mi-ge chi-gyi-d'ang I have accumulated from beginningless time, ky'ä-par dom-pa sum-gy'i mi-t'un ch'ok And especially any transgressions of my three vows nying-nä gyö-pa dr'ak-pö so-sor-shak I confess over and again with fervent regard from my heart.

Rejoicing

Nyik-mai d'u-dir mang-t'ö drup-la tsön From the depths of my heart I rejoice, O Protectors ch'ö-gye pang-pä d'al-jor d'on-yo j'e In the great waves of your deeds, you who gon-po ky'ö-kyi lap-ch'en dze-pa-la Strove to learn and practise in this degenerate age dak-chak sam-pa t'ak-pä yi-rang-ngo And who made your fully endowed life worthwhile by abandoning the eight worldly concerns.

Requesting teachings

Je-tsun la-ma d'am-pa ky'e-nam-kyi Oh, Venerable Holy Gurus, from the billowing clouds of your love and wisdom, in the sky of Dharmakaya, ch'o-kui k'a-la ky'en-tsei ch'u-dzin tr'ik I request you to let fall on the ground of your disciples, j'i-tar ts'am-pai dul-j'ai dzin-ma-la In whatever way may benefit them, zap-gye ch'o-kyi ch'ar-pa ap-tu sol ! A rain of profound and extensive Dharma.

Tong.pai ngang.lä YAM.lä lung.gi kyil.khor ngön.po From within the state of emptiness appears YAM, zhui.yib ta.b'u b'a.d'än.gy'i tsän.pa and from that a blue, bow-shaped wind mandala marked by banners; d'ei teng.d'u RAM.lä mei kyil.khor mar.po dr'u.sum.pa above that is RAM, from which arises a red, triangular fire mandala; d'ei.teng.d'u AH.lä mi.goi gye.pu.sum.gy'i teng.d'u above that, from [three] AH appears a tripod of three human heads; AH.lä j'ung.wai t'ö.pa kar.po and above that, from AH appears a white skull-cup. d'ei.nang.gi shar.d'u BHRUM.lä j'ung.wai b'a.lang.gi Within the skull-cup, BHRUM in the east sha, G'Ö.tsän.pa comes bull flesh marked by GO; lhor AM.lä j'ung.wai ky'ii sha, KÜ.ts'än.pa in the south, from AM, dog flesh marked by KU; nub.tu DZIM.lä j'ung.wai lang.po.ch'ei sha, D'Ä.ts'än.pa in the west, from JRIM, elephant flesh marked by DA; j'ang.d'u KHAM.lä j'ung.wai tai sha, HÄ.tsän.pa in the north, from KHAM, horse flesh marked by HA; u.su HUM.lä j'ung.wai mii sha, NÄ.ts'än.pa in the center, from HUM, human flesh marked by NA; shar.lhor LAM lä j'ung.wai dr'i.ch'en BI.ts'än.pa in the south-east, from LAM, excrement marked by BI; lho.nub.tu MAM.lä j'ung.wai rakta, RÄ.ts'an.pa from in the south-west, from MAM, blood marked by RA; nub.j'ang.d'u PAM.lä j'ung.wai j'ang.sem kar.po SHÜ.ts'än.pa in the north-west, from PAM, white bodhicitta marked by SHU; j'ang.shar.d'u TAM.lä j'ung.wai kang.mar, MÄ.ts'än.pa in the north-east, from TAM, marrow marked by MA; u.su BAM.lä j'ung.wai dr'i.ch'u, MÜ.ts'än.pa and in the center, from BAM, urine marked by MU. d'e d'ak.g'i teng.d'u OM kar.po Above these stand a white OM, AH mar. po a red AH, HUM ngön.po sum and a blue HUM, teng.nä teng.du tseg.par gy'ur one above the other. rang.g'i t'ug.kai HUM.lä wö.zer tr'ö, lung.lä p'og.pä Lights emanate from the HUM at my heart and strike the wind; lung yö, me bar.te t'ö.pai dzä.nam zhu.zhing k'öl.war gyur the wind moves the fire flares, and all the substances in the skull-cup melt and boil. yi.g'e.sum.lä wö.zer rim.pa zhin.d'u trö.pä Light radiates from the three letters successively, drawing forth the vajra body, ku.dor.je sung.dor.je, t'ug.dor.je.nam kug.nä yi.g'e.sum.la vajra speech and vajra mind, which the three letters respectively absorb. rim.gy'i t'im.pa.nam, t'ö.par lhung.nä zhu.wä These descend into the skull-cup and all melts. HUM.g'i k'a.d'og dr'i nü.kyi ky'ön jang HUM purifies all faults of colour, smell and potentiality. ÄH, dü.tsir tog.par j'ä AH transforms it into nectar. OM.gy'i mang.por.bar.zhing pel.war.gy'ur OM multiplies and increases it. OM AH HUM OM AH HUM OM AH HUM

Blessing the outer offering substances

Tong pa nyi dhu gyur All is empty. Tong pä ng'ang lä AH lä jung wä tö pa yang shing gyä che wa nam From within the state of emptiness appear eight letters of AH; and from those, huge and vast skull-cups; kyi nang dhu HUM HUM zhu wa lä jung.wä chö pa nam khä pa'r süm inside of each is a HUM. The HUMs melt, and libations, water for the feet, perfume, flowers, incense, light, food and entertaining music appear. All have the nature of the wisdom of bliss and emptiness, the appearance of offerings, dhen ghi ngo wo gyur and the function of generating a special uncontaminated bliss as objects to be enjoyed by the six senses.

Tong pä ng'ang lä rang.gi dün du pä ma dang nyi ma dhang dr'ag gäg From within emptiness, in the space in front appear a lotus and a sun disc nam kyi nying ga nä zi pä ma hä rab tu tö pä dhen ghi teng on which is a ferocious buffalo crushing all enenmies and interferers, [stepping] on their hearts du YA lä thö you'ug YA tsän pa. Upon this a YA which transforms into a skull-club marked by YA dhä lä ö tö dr'ag gäg dhug pa chen tham che tsar ched from which light rays emanate, pacifying or destroying all enemies, interferers and evil ones. tsur dü you'ug tö la thim dä yong su gyur pa lä lä kyi The rays dissolve back into the skull-club which transforms into shin je nag po zhal chig chag nyi pa ma hä rab tu tros pä dhong pa chen mar black Karmayama with one head, two arms and the face of a buffalo with three round red bloodshot eyes. shing dhüm pä chen süm dhang dhen pa yä pä thö you'ug His upraised right hand holds a skull-club, his left holds a noose. dhang yön pä shag pa zin pa ü ta mar ser gyän dhü zä pa His orange hair bristling upward, and his red phallus is erect. linga mar po gyan du lang pa dhe yön dhu TZAM dhang tze To his left from a TZAM [comes a] trident which becomes black Camundi, süm lä kä pä tza mun dhi nag mo zhal chig chag nyi kyi yä with one face and two arms, holding a trident in her right hand and a skull-cup in her left. tze süm dhang yön thö pa zin pa ya pa ti la sog pa shinje They are surrounded by an entourage of male and female yama, lords of death, such as Yapati and so forth. pho mö khor ghi kor wä tzo khor tham che kyi chi wor OM All are adorned by a white OM at the crown, karpo dr'in par AH marpo thug kar HUM ngön pö tsan par gyur at the throat with a red AH and at the heart with a blue HUM.

Invocation

Rang gi thug kä HUM lä ö ser tö pa lho chog rim pa dhün ghi From the blue HUM at my heart, light rays emanate, instantly inviting sa og nä lä kyi shinje yab yum khor dhang chä pa kä chig ghi chen drang from seven levels beneath the earth in the south Karmayama yab-yum, together with their entourage.

OM KALARUPA SAPARIWARA AKAR KHYAI YA DZA DZA HUM BAM HO nyi su me par gyur They become non-dual.

HUM Lama chog dhang kyil khor lha tsog dhang Supreme lama and host of deities of the mandala kha dhöd süng mar chä pa gh'ong su sol together with the oath-bound protectors, Please listen to me. tza gyü lama chö kür ma tog par Having not recognized the root and lineage gurus as the Truth Body; nyön mong wong ghi lok ta ghi pa dhang Out of delusion, forming wrong views about them; tza wa yän lag dham tsig ma süng dhang having not kept the root and branch commitments, ku su'ng thug dhang chi na'ng sa'ng wa yi transgessing the commitments of body, speech and mind, dham tsig lä dhä nyän dr'ub yäl wa dhang and outer, inner and secret commitments; chö tor men dhang dham dzä bheg pa sog being distracted from the retreat and meditation; dhor na go sum gho nä nyä pä tsog offering inferior torma and materials of defiled commitment, and so on; thug dhang ghel war gyur pa chi chis pa In brief, the faults that I have committed through the three doors; lama yidam su'ng mar chä pa la Anything that went against your wish, to gurus, deities and protectors, tö dräl chö ying nga'ng dhu shag par ghi I confess in the state of the realm of truth free from fabrications.

Fulfillment

HUM Dhä chän lhundup dhöd mä rang zhin les From the state of the primordial simultaneously-achieved great bliss, na tsog chö pä jhä dr'ag tha yä pa having well offered a limitless array of a variety chö kyi gyäl po yab yum chen lam dhu of offerings to the eyes of the King of Dharma yab and yum, leg par jhü'ng wä gä pa kä gyur chig May they be pleased.

Mar chen ta'ag ghi chö yön dr'a gäg kyi A libation of great red blood, the flowers of the organs of enemies and interferers, wang pö me tog sha nä dhüd tin dhang Clouds of smoke from their flesh, tsil chen mar mä zhag chän dhri chab dhang the light from burning fat, the perfume of water from body’s grease, sha rü zhal sä na tsog röl mo dhi the food of their flesh and bones and the varieties of music:

Lu'ng tar nyür gyo'g ta nag tsog nam dhang Hosts of black horses as swift as the wind, mighty goats and sheep, mig men dhang chag tob dhen ra dhang lug black and shiny as kohl, glorious and sly wild yaks nga'm ji yag ghöd dr'a jom chen zhen dhang and wild beasts destroying enemies phur dhing röl pä jha nag tsog nam kyi and joyfully-flying flocks of black birds gliding above:

Char tin tar nag dr'ag pö nga ro chen Very magnificent and beautiful herds of buffaloes nga'm pä kha la'ng dhu kyi tin tar yo as dark as rain clouds with a terrifying roar, dorje ra dhen dr'ag gäg sog la röl glorious breath like Time’s clouds moving above, rab ji zä pä ma hä tsog nam kyi having vajra horns and enjoying the lives of enemies and interferer:

Dham nyam lä la ngam pä thö youg dhang Skull-club voracious for oath-breakers’ brains, dra gäg ching jhä dhü kyi zhag pa dhang Time’s lasso to bind enemies and interferers, Criminal record, sog tog tsön cha ta bham thö ta'g sog blood-filled skull-cup, etc.,and weapons for snatching life, tän dra jom pä cha kyen dham pa dhi with these noble instruments for destroying enemies of the teachings:

Zhing chän yang zhi gho täng dho shäl dhang Human skin with four limbs [dangling] long rosary of human heads, dorje gho tsön mar chän tor mä tsog vajra weapons and armour and masses of great red tormas, dhöd yön na nga lhün po ling shir je five sense objects, Mount Meru and the four continents, chi na'ng sa'ng tän ma tsang mä pa dhi and the objects of outer, inner and secret [offering], with nothing left out:

HUM.g'i k'a.d'og dr'i nü.kyi ky'ön jang HUM purifies all faults of colour, smell and potentiality. ÄH, dü.tsir tog.par j'ä AH transforms it into nectar. OM.gy'i mang.por.bar.zhing pel.war.gy'ur OM multiplies and increases it.

Rang ghi thug khä HUM ngön pö ö ser chag kyü nam pa chen Light rays in the form of hooks radiate from the blue HUM at my heart ghi chos kyong cho nga khor dhang chä pa kü'g tä chog tsam and draw forth the.fifteen direction protectors with their entourage. nam su khö pa nä kä chig ghi ö säl dhu chu'g pa lä päl They settle in their respective directions. Then, instantaneously dissolving into clear light, dorje jig je zhal chig chag nyi kyi dhri gü'g dhang thö pa each of them arises in the form of the glorious Vajrabhairava with one face and two arms, holding a curved knife and a skull-cup. zin pä kür zhä'ng pä drön nam kyi jhag HUM lä kä pä dor je On the tongue of each of the guests, tze chig pa mar pö ö kyi bhu ghu chen nam su gyur from a HUM comes a single-spoked white vajra with a hollow tube of light.

Offering the torma

Recite the root mantra once to request the principal deity to give permission for the fifteen direction protectors to partake of the offering: OM YAMA RAJA SADO MAYA YAME DORU NAYO DAYA YADA YONI RAYA KSHAYA YAKSHE YACCHA NIRA MAYA HUM HUM PHE PHE SOHA

Offer to the direction protectors by reciting four times; OM BHU CHARANA YA PATALA CHARAYA MAN KHECHARAYA TA PURBA NIGANAM KA DAKSHINA DIGAYA HUM PASCHI MANAM PHE UTTARA TIGAYA OM I HRIH YA SHTRIH VA VI KSHI KRI KO TA E NA A NA DE HUM BHYOH PHE SARVA BHUTE BHYAH

Make the sense-offering by: OM DASHADIKA LOKAPALA SAPARIWARA ARGHAM, PADYAM, GANDHE, PUPE, DUPE, AHLOKE, NIUDE, SHAPTA PRATITZA HUM SOHA

Blessing the torma to the landlord and spirits

From BHRUM arise vast, expansive vessels made of jewels. dhu zhu wa lä jhu'ng wä torma kar Inside them OM melts into light and from that arises torma with the three whites and the three sweets, süm ngar süm zag pa mä pä yeshi kyi dhu tzi gya tso chän po gyur transforming into a great ocean of uncontaminated nectar of transcendental wisdom.

Making the offering

Chom dhen dhä gyal wa rinchen ma'ng la chag tsäl lo I prostrate to the Bhagavan, the Victorious Many-Jewelled One, dhä shin shäg pa zug zä dham pa la chag tsäl lo I prostrate to the Tathagata, Supreme Beautiful Form. dhä shin shäg pa ku jam lä la chag tsäl lo I prostrate to the Tathagata, Infinite-Bodied One. dhä shin shäg pa jig pa tham chä dhang dräl wa la chag tsäl lo I prostrate to the Tathagata, Free From All Fear.

Requesting activity Ring the bell while saying

Phün tsog dhö yön nga dhen pä I offer this torma and ocean of nectar dhü tzi gya tsö torma dhi endowed with the five perfect sense-objects to tsan ma, sa yi lha mo tän ma sog the goddesses of the earth, tong süm zhi dag tsog nam dhang all lords of the site of the three thousand worlds, tse ring chä nga tän kyong chä to the five sisters of long life ghang chän nä pa tham chä dhang and to all protectors who reside in Tibet, (and in this land,) khä par yül chog dhir nyi kyi and particularly to the devas, yül lha zhi dag nam la bül nagas and lords of the site who dwell in this very region. zhä nä näl jor yön chö kun Having accepted, I request you to gather as we wish lä dhang jha wa chi jhä kyang all conditions conducive for whatever actions we ku long ta'g dhog ma zä par and the sponsors perform, thün kän yi shin drub par zöd without showing anger or jealousy.

Then ring the bell, while reciting the words of truth:

Dag ghi sam pä tob dhang ni By the power of my thoughts, dhä shin shäg pä jin tob dhang by the power of the generosity of the Tathagatas, chö kyi ying kyi tob nam kyi and by the power of the realm of truth, dhon nam ghang dag sam pa kün may any purpose we desire, dhä dag tham chä chi rig pa any whatsoever, thog par mä par jhum gyur chig be realized without obstruction.

Praise and Request to Kalarupa

The ritual assistant if there is one, or oneself should make three prostrations, hold up the offering of the sixty-four at one’s face level, facing the deity, and then recite the exhortation:

HUM Chi dag nag po lho chog kyi In the southern direction, rim pa dhün ghyi sa og na seven levels beneath the earth, sog la ngam pä shinje ni is the black Lord of death, Yama voracious for life. nag po ma hä dhen teng dhu On a black buffalo as a seat appears YA, YA lä jhum wä yu'g pa ni from which arises a club marked by a skull. thö pä tsän pa lä jhum wa This becomes the King of Dharma, ting nä tö pa ma hä dhong with the face of a furious buffalo, zha jhä zhäl dhang chä wa tzig ravenous mouth stretched open, tö pä chän tza mar po tu'g fangs gnashing, eyes fearsome and bloodshot, tra ser ma ra gyän dhu zä and orange hair bristling upward. la'g yön shag pä dr'a gäg ching He holds a noose in his left yä pä yu'g pä dhül dhu lo'g hand to bind enemies and interferers chö kyi gyäl pö shinje tsog and a club in his right hand to pound them to dust. ma mo chän mo tza mun dhi O King of Dharma and hosts of Yamas, tza süm thö trag zin zä pa and O Camundi the might ogress holding a trident drän dhang chä pä dhü la bha'b and a skull-cup of blood, sha chän ta'g zhag chän po yi. for all of you and all of your servants the time has come. take out torma.

Torma gya tso chö par zhä Accept as offering this ocean-like torma of human flesh, blood and grease. gyäl wä ghö pai dham tsig dhang Because of the commitments prescribed nying je dr'a gä'ag nyur dhu dröl by the Victor and out of great compassion, da'ng wä dr'a dhang nö pä gäg free me quickly from all enemies and interferers. dhü dhang bhar dhu chö pa nam Enemies who hate and interferers who harm, sung shig ching shig nam par dhom evil beings who hinder seize them, bind and tie them tight. khu'g chig dho'ng shig wong dhu dhü Summon them, drag them, make them your slaves. song ching drong chig reng par ghyi Slay them, expel them, render them dumb. chä shig nö'n chig mu'g par ghyi Dismember them, trample them, make them bewildered. thül zhig chom shig nam par shig Subdue them, destroy them, dhül tän tzam yang mä par zö demolish them fully so that not even an atom of them might remain.

Recite the following verse. When you say, « Accept as offering this ocean-like torma…, » take the truk.chu.ma straight outside without turning around and transfer the torma onto a clean place facing away from one’s place of meditation. If you are sitting down and the attendant is taking it out, ring the bell and damaru while saying the words.

Tsa gyü lama nam kyi tra shi shog May there be the auspiciousness of the root and lineage lamas, yidam lha tsog nam kyi tra shi shog May there be the auspiciousness of they yidams and hosts of deities, ma dang khan dro nam kyi tra shi shog May there be the auspiciousness of the ogresses and dakinis, chö kyong sung ma nam kyi tra shi shog May there be the auspiciousness of the protectors and guardians of the Dharma.
