 +====== Respect Dharma Texts ======
 +
 +The [[Buddhist]] [[Tripitaka]] of [[Sutra]]s-[[Tantras]], [[Shastra]]s and [[Vinaya]] texts contain the [[precious]], [[profound]] and lofty [[teachings]] ([[Dharma]]) of the [[Buddhas]], [[Bodhisattva]]s, [[Gods]], [[Goddess]]es, [[Dakini]]s and [[Guru]]s [[reveal]]ed by the [[Enlightened One]]s out of [[compassion]]ate regard for the [[salvation]] of [[mankind]] and all [[living beings]]. For [[generation]]s, many [[High Sanghan]]s ([[monastic]]), [[Yogi]]s and [[lay person]]s have [[give]]n their [[lives]] towards the [[preservation]] of these [[text]]s so that [[human]]ity may continue to [[receive]] [[guidance]] along the [[Path]] towards [[Ultimate]] [[liberation]]. It follows that anyone [[study]]ing these [[sacred literature]] should bring forth a [[mind]] of [[deep]] [[gratitude]] and [[reverence]] and [[reflect]] upon how [[rare]] it is to encounter the [[Buddha]]’s [[teachings]]. Such [[gratitude]] should also express it[[self]] [[natural]]ly in a [[respect]]ful and humble frame of [[mind]] when approaching the [[scripture]]s, as well as the [[Orthodox]] [[commentaries]] ([[Shastra]]s) and [[liturgies]] ([[Puja]]s and [[Sadhana]]s); the fortunate recipient of these [[teachings]] should also ensure that such [[Holy Text]]s are handled only with clean [[hand]]s and [[sincere]] [[mind]]s, and when not in use, that these [[text]]s are stored in clean and elevated places.
 +
 +These [[scripture]]s represent one of the [[Three Precious Refuges]] in [[Buddhism]]; the [[Sutra]]s and the [[teachings]] contained therein should therefore be accorded the same [[high]] [[level]] of [[reverence]] as is reserved for the [[other]] [[two]] [[Precious]] [[Jewel]]s, [[name]]ly the [[Sangha]] and the [[Buddha]]. Those having the [[good fortune]] to encounter the [[Buddhist]] [[scripture]]s should [[understand]] and [[conduct]] themselves in accordance with the [[principle]]s of [[cause and effect]]. They should ensure that they do not carelessly mishandle, malign or [[other]]wise [[slander]] the [[scripture]]s as the [[karmic retribution]] from such [[offense]]s are [[extreme]]ly serious.
 +
 +[[Proper]] Use, Terms, and [[condition]]s:
 +
 +I agree to the following [[condition]]s for the download and use of [[text]]s or pictures of [[Buddhas]] and [[Bodhisattva]]s' [[image]]s and [[painting]]s or the [[Venerable]] [[Master]]s' photographs from this site:
 +
 +1) I agree to treat them with the care, [[respect]], and integrity due to the [[truly]] [[sacred]].  Hence I also agree to handle all copies of files and downloads of these [[text]]s and photographs or slideshows on [[Sage]]s with [[reverence]], including keeping them in clean and [[pure]] places.
 +
 +2) I will ac[[knowledge]] the original [[source]] of all [[text]]s whenever I post or re[[produce]] all or part of any [[text]].
 +
 +3) I will not alter or abridge the [[content]] of any [[text]] without the [[permission]] of the original author such as [[Wisdom Publications]], [[Buddhist Text Translation Society]], [[Shambala Publications]], [[Snow Lion Publications]], [[FPMT]] or other sources except as allowed by [[Fair Use]].
 +
 +4) I will not sell copies of any downloaded [[Buddha Dharma]] [[text]]s in any media or in any [[other]] [[way]] seek monetary [[gain]] from the [[Dharma]] [[material]]s in this website.
