udana vayu: One of the five subtypes of vata dosha (five subtypes of vata); the upward moving energy, it mainly moves through the diaphragm, lungs, bronchi, trachea and throat. It governs exhalation and is responsible for speech, expression and any action that requires effort. It also stimulates memory and helps a person rise from confusion, attachment, depression and other daunting experiences.
